Everybody that writes about or has a channel about record collecting feels like they must submit a top 10 List of albums that no collection would ever be complete unless you have them in your collection. WRONG!!!

There’s no such thing as a Top 10 for everyone. A jazz connoisseur isn’t going to have anything to do with Country and a Heavy Metal enthusiast isn’t going to collect pop.

Top 10 for me might not be in your top 100. Hell, my top 10 changes constantly, not that I rank them at any given time. But I must confess that there are a few albums that I’ve seen omitted from peoples top 10 or top 100 and I instantly dismiss anything that they have to say.

But even these are subjective to individual taste. Someone may hate prog rock, prefer a different Zeppelin album over this one, and not care for the Beatles at all.

I personally listen to almost everything. If I had to create a list there would be some rock, country, blues, and R & B on my list. I don’t know a thing about jazz, I’ve tried but it does absolutely nothing for me. A few albums that I consider my favorites of all time may not be because of the songs, but I consider them irreplaceable because of the memories that they hold.

Any lists that you see should be taken as suggestions. Like I’ve mentioned before… Collect what you want, listen to what you want, and only buy records that you’ll play and enjoy.
